Bananas Foster French Toast

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Servings: 4

French Toast Ingredients:

4 eggs

2 cups half-and-half

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/4 stick unsalted butter

1 loaf Nature’s Own Butterbread*

Bananas Foster Sauce Ingredients:

1/2 stick unsalted butter

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3 bananas, sliced lengthwise and then quartered

To prepare the French toast: In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Heat nonstick griddle or pan over medium heat and add butter to melt.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture twice until well coated. Place on the heated griddle and cook until both sides are golden brown.

To create the bananas foster sauce: In a saucepan, melt together the butter and brown sugar, then stir in the cinnamon. Once it forms a caramel, gently add the sliced bananas.

Continue to spoon the sauce over the bananas in the pan.

Serve the French toast with the bananas and sauce generously poured over each stack.

NOTE:

*This recipe for Bananas Foster French Toast uses Nature’s Own Butterbread, which is collaborating with Make-A-Wish on a significant $500,000 donation to support wish children through 2026.

Since its inception in 1980, the nonprofit has fulfilled over 375,000 wishes for children with critical illnesses in the U.S., providing them with the strength and hope essential for their recovery. These granted wishes can profoundly affect families and the communities around them.

To honor this partnership, the Slice of Hope Campaign was initiated, featuring in-store displays and a digital “Well Wish Wall” where shoppers can share their well wishes for children to read.

“We are truly honored to partner with Make-A-Wish on this meaningful two-year journey, committing to help grant life-changing wishes. Together, we hope to continue to inspire and spread goodness, one wish at a time.”
