Judge Peter Zahra is a District Court judge in New South Wales. After suffering a stroke, he died on May 8, 2022, in Sydney.

In 2007, the judge was appointed to the District Court bench. He has presided over high-profile cases such as Robert Hughes and Paul Douglas.

Zahra was overseeing the start of Guy Sebastian’s ex-manager Titus Day’s trial. He was accused of stealing more than $900,000 from the winner of Australian Idol.

Judge Peter Zahra suffered a stroke on Thursday. He sadly passed away on May 8 in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the cause of his death is a stroke.

His final moments were with his beloved family and dear friends.

Peter’s death was confirmed by Judge James Bennett today. The members of the jury offered their condolences to the judge’s family.

His family released a statement that read Peter Zahra will always be remembered as a Special Soul who touched the lives of everybody he met.

Judge Peter Zahra Illness And Health Condition Explored

Judge Peter Zahra did not have any significant illness until he suffered a stroke last week. He got rushed in an ambulance from inner-west Sydney to Alfred Hospital.

The 66-year-old may have suffered from a stroke due to his age. His health condition was good, and he was attending court trials until last week.

As they say, At its best, life is unpredictable, Zahra could not recover from the stroke, and he suddenly passed away.

Judge Peter Zahra’s Wikipedia says he was an experienced judge who had been serving the NSW district court for 15 years.

He lived in Sydney and belonged to Australian nationality. Moreover, The judge was also a former state’s senior public defender from 2001 to 2007.
